'Southampton - a connected city for growth and creativity; gateway to a world of opportunities'
Southampton Connect, launched April 2011, is a collaborative arrangement which seeks to address the key challenges facing Southampton. These include, at a national level the Coalition Government’s deficit reduction plan and, at a local level, the ongoing impact of the recession. Southampton Connect’s approach builds upon our unique city collaborative ethos, relationships and networks, and represents a new way of working together to improve Southampton.
Southampton Connect meet monthly, their agenda papers and action notes are available to view.
Southampton Connect has developed and is driving forward its Southampton Connect Plan 2011-2014 which address our jointly agreed two City Priorities and four City Challenges. The Southampton Connect Plan 2011-2014 was launched in October 2011 to over 100 key stakeholders and partners. The plan sets out a Vision for the city and a challenging programme of ten priority projects that Southampton Connect will individually and collectively lead on. |
The Southampton Connect Plan is based on a single, comprehensive assessment of needs in the city, The Southampton Profile: an analysis of gaps and needs, which is supported by resident feedback, a city profile and ward profiles. The Southampton Profile is a unique city resource bank that will be updated periodically.
